Roach Coach
History; Roach Coach is an Olson 30 racing PHRF hailing from Casco Bay. We belong to the Gulf of Maine Offshore Racing Association (GMORA). Roach Coach was raced lightly in 2002-2004. She was very competitive arriving in the top three for most of the offshore races she was entered in. In 2005, she rarely missed a GMORA race. She won 3rd place for class C West for the season. In 2006 She and devoted crew finnished 3rd Western Region/ 1st Central Region and 1st Overall In the GMORA Series. The Roach Coach Team has set the bar pretty high for the 2007 season because we only want to get better. There are a few trophies out there with our name yet to be etched on them! There will be plenty of GMORA races entered from Thursday nights, weekends to offshore races, you can find us racing with beer cans or racing to foreign lands.Skipper; The skipper (Richard Stevenson) has been racing in Casco Bay for 15+ years and has experience sailing many types of boats from dinghies to an Open 60! He has also earned the Yachtmaster Offshore/Ocean certifications.
Crew; Roach Coach will have several 2006 veterans returning this year and a couple of new crew as well. You may view all of our profiles in the crew list. We are always looking for some “ballast technicians”, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you’re looking for a ride.
